At Midsummer, Marstrand offers truly world-class racing conditions. Reliable westerly winds, often building through the day, combine with the interplay between open sea and archipelago to create varied sea states and subtle tactical challenges. Marstrand is just a 40-minute drive from Gothenburg and its international harbour. We will make sure that all local logistics are arranged to run as smoothly as possible.

The regatta will feature a varied and inclusive racing format designed to reflect both the competitive excellence and the heritage of the Dragon Class. High-level fleet racing will form the core of the programme, complemented by dedicated starts or trophies for Classic Dragons. Based on previous milestone events, such as the 75th and 90th anniversaries, a strong international turnout is anticipated. These jubilees attracted large and diverse fleets, combining top-level competitors with Corinthian teams and Classic Dragons. For the centenary, we expect even broader participation, with the fleet potentially reaching up to 200 boats, reflecting both the global appeal of the class and the significance of the 100-year celebration.

What social events are planned during the regatta?

The social programme will be an integral part of the event, designed to be as welcoming and inclusive as the racing itself. A range of gatherings is planned, from informal dockside events to organised dinners and celebrations, reflecting both the heritage and international spirit of the Dragon Class.
